PMI ACP Certification Exam Fee
When you land on PMI’s website for details, this is one of the first things you’d probably notice – the cost. That amount listed on the PMI ACP official page is the Exam fee that you need to pay after your application is processed and accepted.
To clarify, it’s separate from your training fee and any other expense. So, it’s one of the steps that come later in your PMI ACP exam process. Now coming to the actual cost, PMI ACP certifications costs $435 to members of PMI and $495 to non-members. Alternatively, the PMI ACP Certification cost in India is INR ₹25,010 for PMI members and ₹28,454 for non-members [as fees to PMI].

PMI ACP Course Fee
As per PMI ACP eligibility prerequisites, you must join a PMI ACP training batch to qualify for the exam. The ACP course must account for 28 hours of dedicated lessons that cover the entire PMI ACP syllabus. Until March 2025, you can also enroll in 21-hour courses.
Now, PMI offers an eLearning course that meets this requirement. However, candidates have higher passing rates with 1-on-1 training live with certified instructors. Your PMI ACP course fee would vary as per training providers. The PMI ACP price depends upon the following factors:
- ATP status: Your training provider should be an Authorized Training Partner of PMI. If they’re not, your PMI ACP trainer fee might be less, but your training won’t meet PMI standards.
- Course Material: Your training provider could be an ATP, but might not have a certified trainer. In this case, you won’t receive the newly revamped Authorized material. As of 2025, it is mandatory to be trained only on PMI-authorized materials for PMI ACP prep.
- Trainer fee: Your trainer’s teaching style and years of experience also contribute to the PMI ACP training fee. PMI ACP Retake Fees
PMI allows 2 more attempts for the PMI ACP exam if you don’t pass on the first try. The re-examination fee for PMI members is US$335 and US$395 for non-members. Do remember that you can only have 2nd and 3rd attempts for the PMI ACP exam within the 1-year eligibility period [after application submission]. However, most of our candidates usually pass the exam and earn the certification on the 1st attempt itself. So there is no need to gear up for such a heavy expense as a part of the PMI ACP cost.

PMI ACP Exam Rescheduling & Cancellation Costs
If in any case you won’t be able to make it to your exam appointment, you need to initiate the rescheduling or cancellation process on the Pearson VUE Platform. Here are the conditions for rescheduling and cancellation fees for the PMI ACP certification exam:
- More Than 30 Days to your Exam: You can reschedule your exam for free if there are more than 30 days left to your exam appointment. These 30 days DO NOT include the exam date. So, if your exam was scheduled for 5th May, you should be initiating the rescheduling/cancellation process on or before 4th April.
- Less than 30 Days to your Exam: If you wait for the final month till the exam to reschedule/cancel, rescheduling fees apply to your case. You’ll incur a Cancellation/Rescheduling fee of US$70 on your credit card as a charge from Pearson VUE. This is to facilitate seating availability because last-minute cancellations on reservations take away spots from other candidates as well.
- 48 hours prior to the exam: You cannot reschedule or cancel your exam within the 48-hour period to the exam date. In this case, if you have a no-show status, you will forfeit the entire fee. Although PMI does consider emergency situations and evaluates them on a case-by-case basis. We’ll look into this further in the Refund Policy section of this blog.

PMI ACP Renewal Fees
Once you earn your PMI ACP certification, you need to work towards maintaining it next. The numerous PMI ACP benefits only apply if you keep your certification is good standing/in Active status. To keep the certification valid, you’ll have to keep accruing 30 PDUs in 3-year cycles, followed by paying the PMI ACP Renewal fees. PMI members need to pay a $60 renewal fee. Whereas, Non-PMI members pay a $150 renewal fee.
If you don’t report the necessary PDUs within the 3-year period, your certification would fall under a “suspension status”. During this period, you can still earn the PDUs to reclaim your certification’s Active status.
If you still fail to report the PDUs, your certification would be marked as “Expired”. In the case where your PMI ACP certification expires, you’ll have to undergo the whole process of application, training, and examination again to gain your certification status – which will cost you a lot more than this PMI ACP renewal fee.
Payment Options for PMI ACP Certification Fees
Once your application is approved by PMI, you’ll get an email prompting you to make the PMI ACP fee payment. You can log in to the portal again, follow the instructions on your screen, till you reach the screen that says “Your application is approved”. Then proceed to click on “Pay for Exam”.
You can pay the PMI ACP certification fees via credit card or wire transfer. If you’re using a credit card, you can directly pay through the online certification system. However, for wire transfer details, you’ll have to reach out to PMI’s customer care via email. Using the credit card medium is a faster way to get your PMI ACP fee payment done.
PMI ACP Certification Refund Policy Set by Project Management Institute
Refunds for the PMI ACP certification are available within 30 days of payment – only if you haven’t already scheduled or taken the certification exam. Once the refund is processed, PMI will close your application and your eligibility period would no longer be valid.
For late cancellations or rescheduling requests, PMI and Pearson VUE deduct US$70 from your PMI ACP certification cost refund. But please note: within 48 hours of the exam, all fees and rescheduling rights are forfeited.
PMI does grant refunds or rescheduling without penalties for some emergency cases such as medical issues, military deployment, and family deaths. To avoid penalties for emergencies like this, you should contact PMI Customer Care within 72 hours with supporting documentation. These situations are evaluated on a case-by-case basis under PMI’s Extenuating Circumstance Policy.
Refund Restrictions:
- No refund if your eligibility period expires without scheduling the exam.
- No refund if you fail to attend a scheduled exam without proper notification or approval.
