Here’s PgMP Success Story By Mandar Dixit
Mandar Dixit, PMP, PgMP, successfully achieved his PgMP certification after more than a decade of holding the PMP credential. His journey highlights the importance of structured preparation, scenario-based practice, and expert guidance.
My Background and Motivation
After more than a decade with PMP certification, I wanted to take the next step in my career. I initially considered the PMI-RMP certification before exploring PgMP.
After a detailed discussion with Ashish Sadekar Sir, I decided to pursue PgMP. His guidance helped me connect my professional experience with program management principles.
Learning Through Structured PgMP Training
The training provided by Ashish Sir was systematic and aligned with the PgMP examination requirements. Interactive discussions helped me understand program management concepts and approach scenario-based questions.
The ProThoughts LMS also supported my preparation. The stdy material and flashcards helped me revise important terminology and reinforce key concepts.
Application and Panel Review Support
Completing the training was only one part of my PgMP journey. The application and panel review process required careful presentation of my program management experience.
Ashish Sir helped me structure and refine my application essays. His guidance helped me align my experience with PMI’s expectations and terminology.
My PgMP Examination Preparation Strategy
I began by reading the PgMP Standard and Guide twice. I then revised the LMS material and training notes to strengthen my understanding.
I also prepared personal cheat sheets covering key concepts across the six program management domains. Before attempting ProThoughts mock exams, I practised approximately 2,500 questions from different learning platforms.
The mock exams helped me identify weak areas and improve my decision-making. I also attempted each mock exam in one continuous four-hour session. This helped me build examination stamina and improve time management.
Clearing the PgMP Examination
The final examination tested my patience, preparation, and decision-making skills. The first 110 to 120 questions were particularly challenging, with lengthy and complex scenarios.
I focused on identifying keywords, understanding the context, and applying a program-level perspective. Time management was another challenge, particularly when reviewing marked questions.
Seeing the “Congratulations” message on the screen was extremely satisfying. It validated the effort and time I had invested throughout my PgMP journey.
I sincerely thank the ProThoughts team, Ashish Sadekar Sir, and Himanshu for their continuous guidance and support throughout this journey.
