PMP Exam Structure:

To begin with the most important part: The PMP Exam structure starts with 200 multiple-choice questions to make up the PMP certification exam format. Only 175 of these 200 questions receive a score.

The rest are pre-test inquiries that don’t affect your final grade. These questions are random and frequently examined to maintain their validity for use in subsequent exams.

The pre-test questions are dispersed at random throughout the exam. Therefore, it is impossible to distinguish between experimental and non-experimental inquiries. Try your best to answer each of the questions honestly.

Time-based Schedule:

According to the PMP exam pattern, you have a total of 4 hours to complete the test.

During these four hours, you are not allowed to take any scheduled breaks. If there is an emergency, you can take a break, but your designated 4-hour tenure will suffer.

Test Overview:

A tutorial kicks off the exam, and then shortly after that, a survey. The majority of the students take an average of 15 minutes to complete this survey.

Along with the 4 hours allotted for writing the test, you get an extra hour to finish the survey.

The PMBOK specification and the PMP Code of Ethics serve as the framework for these questions.

PMP Exam Results: A Historical Overview:

Up until 2005, PMI set the passing mark at 68.5% or getting 137 out of 200 questions correctly. Following that, it soared to 80.6%.

In the end, the officials revised the PMP certification examination format and reduced the score to 60.6%. Then, in order to qualify, you had to answer 106 of the 175 right questions.

Updated PMP exam format:

Since 2007, PMI has changed the PMP test format to a pass/fail system and discontinued releasing percentage results.

Instead, they began referencing the test results’ proficiency levels for each of the domains. Today, you wouldn’t be aware of the proportion in numbers for each skill.

Only your proficiency, moderate proficiency, or lack of proficiency in each domain is shown by your score.

There is currently no official statement from PMI to support the notion that scores of 80% or higher indicate proficiency, 61% indicate moderate proficiency, and less than 61% indicate below proficiency.
